Testimonials
Massimo patient testimonial
I had both Anterior Cruciate Ligaments operated on within 12 months. My surgeon told me returning to sport would be difficult and unlikely. Working closely with Tom I have been able to return to playing competitive badminton and living an enjoyable active lifestyle.

Collaborations

Pleased to be partnered with like minded sports organisations and businesses to help improve the health and well being of active individuals across Romsey, The New Forest and Hampshire.

Experienced Consultant
Physiotherapist

Over 15 years I have treated a huge variety of patients and injuries including Premier League footballers and Olympians and from paediatric injuries to those sustained in our later years. I am delighted to now bring this advanced Sports Physiotherapy to benefit the active population in Romsey.

I combine my knowledge and experience in both private practice and elite sport. I endeavour to help patients of all ages return from injury and maximise their health and fitness.

Utilising data to assess and track progress

I use data to assist me in the rehabilitation  process. It helps to give us a baseline and a goal to work towards. I use systems that are simple and easy to interpert and share all information with my patients so you know where you are at every step of the path back to recovery.

Combined treatment approach

I use a combination of treatments to help rehabilitate my patients. They depend on the individual and the end goal but you can expect therapies such as

Manual mobilisations, soft tissue therapy, dry needling, movement screening, home exercise programs, muscle stimulation, blood flow resistance training, fascial therapy, myofascial cupping, k-taping.

I will always discuss the recommended therapies with you and proceed on what you feel most comfortable with. I believe healthcare decisions should be made in combination between both the health professional and the patient.

  • I've never seen a physio before what can I expect?
The first session is finding out about you and the issues you're experiencing. We will discuss your symptoms and where you feel you are limited. I will then assess you by looking at certain movements and completing different tests to come up with a diagnosis. I will then layout a treatment plan and give you an expectation of how many sessions you may need and when you will be back to full fitness.
  • What types of problem does Physiotherapy help?
A wide variety of musculoskeletal issues, we have expertise in treating muscle, bone, tendon. joint, ligament and nerve issues. We can treat areas all over the body from head to toe.
  • What should I wear?
Loose fitting gym/sports clothes. Shorts for a lower limb injury and tank top for upper limb injury are ideal. I will need to assess the area so may politely ask you to remove clothing if required. I will protect and respect your modesty at all times.
  • Do I need a referral?
No absolutely not! Most of my patients will come direct to me realising that physiotherapy is the best solution for their injury. If you have seen another health professional that has recommended you see a physio then do bring along any correspondence with you.
  • Do you treat under 18's?
Yes I have a fair bit of experience with younger athletes having worked in professional sports academies. All under 18s will need to bring a parent or guardian with them for all sessions.
  • How many sessions will I need?
That will depend on your injury. I will always give you an estimate of how much physiotherapy you will need at your first session. As you can appreciate injuries don't always go as predicted but I will be open and honest with your progress and recommend what is best for you and your rehabilitation.
  • Where are you located?
We will be located at Alexandra House (Nix Business Centre) on Winchester Hill. Next to Snows Peugeot Romsey.
  • Can I bring someone with me?
Yes of course more than happy to have someone you trust attend the appointment with you.
  • Is there car parking?
Yes plenty of free car parking directly outside the building.
  • Is the treatment studio easy to access?
Yes the studio is on the ground floor there is both level access to the building and the treatment room.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
You can pay for your sessions with debit card, credit card or cash.
