Muscle Imbalance Testing

I was asked recently to name what habits elite athletes have that separates them from the rest of us weekend warriors. Talent, ability and genetic factors we can do little to affect. But one thing we can all do is understand our own body better. In today's modern world, health technology is advancing rapidly. We can measure our blood pressure, our sleep cycles, our heart rate all from our phone. We can use this data to make better choices and we can monitor and track the effect those choices have.

If you have seen a Physiotherapist before I am sure you have probably been told as part of your injury there is some element of weakness, in a certain muscle or group of muscles. Muscle imbalance testing gives us the ability to quantify those weaknesses and crucially measure your improvement from any interventions we put in place.
This helps direct the rehabilitation and sometimes even unearth factors we were not aware of through other forms of assessment,

But imbalance testing is not just for rehabilitation and injuries, it can be an informative prevention process to reduce the risk of injury in the first place. In fact with athletes regular testing occurs to constantly measure for even the smallest imbalance and address them as quickly as possible.
Whether it be for rehabilitation or prevention through our imbalance testing I can then set you the correct exercise intervention to address the imbalances seen. Your testing data and exercise programs are all kept on an easy to access app. Alongside the objective data, I will also set subjective questionnaires for you to fill out, which helps to monitor the most important factor of all - how well you feel you are progressing.
Understanding and monitoring your own data is an area of healthcare that is only going to continue to progress and grow over time. Knowledge is power as they say 🧠!
